The British Embassy in Algiers will organise a Photograph Exhibition of Peter Sanders, a British photographer convert to Islam. The date and venue of the exhibition, which will be open to the public, will be announced, via the press, soon.
The Opening Reception for the Gallery was held on Sunday 16 March at El Djazair Hotel in the attendance of H.E, Andrew Henderson and a number of media and civil society representatives.
In 2005, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office sponsored Peter Sanders to collate a collection of photographs depicting Muslim Life in Britain. This resulted in The Art of Integration Exhibition : Islam in Britain’s Green and Pleasant Lands, which is a unique exhibition highlighting how Muslims in Britain are heavily integrated in the British society. Peter Sanders is internationally recognised as one of the leading photographers of the Muslim world.
This exhibition salutes the ordinary and extraordinary contributions made by Muslims in everyday life of the United Kingdom. British Muslims contributed hugely to creating the wealth and prosperity which Muslims and non-Muslims alike enjoy in the UK today.
