FCO blogging platform: global conversations

The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has launched a new blogging platform.
 
This is a new platform for UK Ministers to engage in a dialogue about international affairs and the work of the FCO. To begin with there will be six bloggers including Foreign Secretary David Miliband, and Europe Minister Jim Murphy, as well as staff from throughout the organisation. The FCO has also launched a new YouTube video channel and Flickr photo account.

Falkland Islands Coat of Arms

The Falkland Islands are an archipelago in the South Atlantic, consisting of two main islands, East Falkland and West Falkland, and about 700 smaller islands. The islands are 300 miles (483 km) from the South American mainland. The total land area is 12,173 km². They are a self-governing overseas territory of the United Kingdom. Executive authority is exercised by the governor on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen. Port Stanley, on East Falkland is the largest city and the capital. The Falkland Islands are often referred to in Spanish as "Islas Malvinas".
