KYOTO PROTOCOL ANNIVERSARY, 16 FEBRUARY 2008

In a symbolic gesture to mark the coming into force of the Kyoto Protocol on 16 February 2005, the FCO in London will today be encouraging staff to turn off their office lights for 15 minutes. Here at the British Embassy in Brussels, we have decided to mark the occasion by taking part in Belgium's Warm Sweater day.

CHANGE IN DELIVERY OF UK PASSPORT SERVICES IN BELGIUM
From Monday 31 March 2008, UK passport services in Belgium and France will be joined to create a single issuing centre. This will be based in the British Consulate-General in Paris. This change is being carefully managed to ensure that service levels remain high: straightforward applications with correctly submitted supporting documents will continue to be processed within 10 working days of receipt at the British Consulate-General Paris.

CHANGE TO UK VISA SERVICES IN BELGIUM
From 1 April 2008, all United Kingdom Visa applications in Belgium will be processed by the British Embassy in Paris under a new “Hub and Spoke” arrangement.
