The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has launched a new FCO Bloggers to provide a place for Ministers and officials to engage in a dialogue with the public about international affairs and the work of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

 

To begin with, there will be six bloggers including the Foreign Secretary, David Miliband and Europe Minister, Jim Murphy, as well as staff from throughout the organization. The FCO has also launched a new YouTube video channel  and a Flickr photo account.

The British Embassy has begun to introduce a new online visa applications service for travellers who require a visa to enter the United Kingdom. It is also introducing biometric data collection (fingerscans) as part of a world-wide biometric identification process.
