Ambassador statement about Sudanair crashed plane
"I was greatly saddened by the news of the accident at Khartoum International Airport on the 10th of June.  On behalf of the British Embassy I wish to express my deepest condolences to those who have lost loved-ones in this tragedy.  My thoughts are with them all at this difficult time. "
 
  High FCO officials visit to Sudan
Sir Peter Ricketts, Permanent Under Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), and Minouche Shafik, Permanent Under Secretary at the Department for International Development (DFID) will visit Sudan 19-22 May.  They will travel to Khartoum and Juba, where they will meet a number of senior Government figures in both the Government of National Unity and the Government of Southern Sudan.  In addition they will hold discussions with UN and NGO representatives, as well as meet the staff of the British Embassy and DFID Sudan.  They will also have the opportunity to visit the sites of UK funded projects in Sudan. 
Ambassador Rosalind Marsden and Head of DFID Sudan, Catriona Laing, will be accompanying the delegation throughout their visit to Sudan.
